Before you call.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes. The first visit costs nothing and carries no obligation. It takes about 45 minutes: we measure the wall, record lean and cracks, check the weep holes and drain outlet, and look up the property's DOB records. You get a written, line-item price afterward, usually within 2 business days, and you decide from there.
What should I have ready before I call?
The address, the wall's approximate length and its tallest exposed height, and what sits above it — lawn, patio, driveway or a building. Photos of the face and the top help. If you have a Local Law 37 report, a DOB violation or an old survey, have it handy; those change the scope and the timeline more than anything else.
My wall just partly collapsed. What should I do first?
Keep people and cars away from the top and the base, and don't dig out the debris, which may be holding the rest of the wall up. If the wall fronts a sidewalk or street, or threatens a building, call 911 for immediate danger or 311 to report it to DOB. Then call us. Our collapse guide lists the steps in order.
